I’ve been wanting to try my hand at video for quite some time – well last month on my trip I decided to just go for it! So I did! I actually did two things I had been wanted to try… I also vlogged! YAY! But once I got home, and I was going through the footage I noticed some things…
I don’t always remember to record. My main goals with my photography (and videography/vlogs) is to tell a story, stories have a beginning, middle, and end…. I was sort of able to accomplish that with one of my videos, however I’m not sure about the other two (partly because I haven’t gone through all the footage I have yet).
Vlogging is hard, (if you’re by yourself especially) because I felt myself wanting to record things but I was either alone (which felt awkward) or in a store or somewhere else public where I felt people staring at me… I’ll be working on getting over that though, as I would like to vlog more often.
Holding the camera steady is a lot harder than you think. I thought I was doing a fantastic job of holding steady…. until I opened the videos on my computer and played them… it was sooo shaky… I know there are tools to help with steadiness, but I’m obviously not there yet, so I’ll just be working on my hands for a while.
I’m terrible at editing video! I don’t know what to do with the transitions from clip to clip… I don’t know how loud to make the music/the video…. basically I just don’t know anything about editing when it comes to video so this was my first shot at that… I think I did ok for it being my first time, but I know I have a lot of work to do!
Anyways with all of that said I wanted to share my first video with you!
